Multi-scale Modelling to Maximise Demand Side Management

DESIMAX is a multi-partner, multi-disciplinary project funded by RCUK. The academic collaborators are Edinburgh, Nottingham, Strathclyde and Heriot-Watt universities. Work started in October 2010 and concluded in April 2014.

The overall aim of DESIMAX is to develop the whole-systems approach necessary for the full employment of Demand Side Management (DSM) within the overall energy supply system (from generation to transmission, distribution and utilisation), in which ensuing transformations are targeted at the points of maximum impact and all system elements are fully optimised for these changes.
